ULTIMATE SANDBAG SATURDAY! BEAR HUG AND GOBLET SQUATS

he Goblet Squat is a great way to introduce and improve the squat pattern. However, holding the bell is often the most challenging/limiting part. This is especially true when someone is new to training or the kettlebell is heavy. In the DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training System, we can make holding the bell easier in some aspects while providing a ton of unique feedback to the lifter. By hugging the Ultimate Sandbag (USB) while pulling it apart, we tie up the entire trunk and get a ton of proprioceptive input from the USB against the torso. The dimension of the USB and downward pull of the sand delivers an awesome response to the squat. Bear Hugs and Goblet Squats are both excellent options but one may suit the needs of your client better. Remember, all tools are not the same. Use what works best for the person. -Fury
